Here’s a tasty and crispy recipe for Beef Tallow Fries:
Ingredients:
4 large potatoes
Salt (to taste)
Optional: Garlic powder, paprika, or other spices for seasoning
Steps:
Preparation:
Wash and peel the potatoes, if desired.
Cut the potatoes into thin strips, like classic French fries.
Rinse and Dry:
Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.
Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels.
Heat the Tallow:
In a deep fryer or a large heavy-bottomed pot, melt the beef tallow over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
First Fry:
Fry the potato strips in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until they turn golden but are still soft. Do not overcrowd the fryer.
Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Second Fry:
Increase the temperature of the beef tallow to 375°F (190°C).
Fry the potatoes again in batches for 2-3 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Seasoning:
Sprinkle the hot fries with salt and any additional spices you like.
Serving:
Serve the beef tallow fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Enjoy your delicious, crispy, and flavorful beef tallow fries!
