Grass-fed Beef Jerky

Ingredients:

2 lbs grass-fed beef (such as flank steak or sirloin)

1/2 cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a soy-free option)

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 tablespoon liquid smoke (optional, for smokiness)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Steps:

Preparation:

Freeze the beef for 1-2 hours until it’s firm but not completely frozen. This makes it easier to slice.

Slice the beef thinly against the grain, about 1/4-inch thick.

Marinating:

In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, liquid smoke (if using), minced garlic, onion powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes.

Add the beef slices to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Dehydrating:

Preheat your oven to 170°F (75°C), or set your ( dehydrator -( Limited Time Deal-15%) to 160°F (70°C).

Arrange the marinated beef slices in a single layer on a wire rack placed over a baking sheet or on the dehydrator trays.

Dry the beef in the oven or dehydrator for about 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry but still slightly pliable.

Storing:

Let the beef jerky cool completely before storing it in an airtight container. It can be kept at room temperature for about a week or refrigerated for longer storage.

Enjoy your homemade, healthy, and delicious grass-fed beef jerky!
