Honey-Glazed Ham:
Ingredients:
1 bone-in ham (about 8-10 pounds)
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Whole cloves (for studding the ham, optional)
Steps:
Preparation:
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern and, if desired, stud with whole cloves.
Make the Glaze:
In a small saucepan, combine the honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved and the glaze is smooth.
Baking the Ham:
Place the ham on a rack in a roasting pan.
Brush the glaze generously over the ham, making sure to cover all surfaces.
Tent the ham with foil and bake in the preheated oven.
Glazing:
Every 30 minutes, baste the ham with more glaze. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize and form a crust.
Serving:
The ham is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).
Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your succulent and sweet honey-glazed ham!
